Has anyone hear replaced a D1 water pump? Is there anything unique about it? Speacial tools?

I didn't think it was hard, and I don't recall any special tools.

The water pump itself is straight forward.

However, you may need a special wrench for the tentioner, in order to take the belt off. Additionally, a water pulley caliper to stabilize the fan and a fan clutch wrench to remove the viscous coupling.

All tools can be purchased at the local NAPA dealer. I opted to uprate the viscous coupling as well using a NAPA Extreme Duty fan clutch (~$70.00).

Cheers,
