Some sort of official vehicle ID? What is the history of the vehicle? Maybe the RN stands for Royal Navy or something similar.
I am a newbie to these vehicles so this is a very wild guess.

Looks like a Royal Navy registration number.
Found this site but it doesn't have those specific numbers

I think that would be cool. What color are you painting ? A new coat of that weird RAF Blue ?

Are you going to use the 'paint grenade' on the inside like the person who painted it that light blue? ;-P

the new color will be khaki/tan but the interior paint will be a brown/cast gray mix. with a random blue box and code lol. and I swear the white and light blue coats were brushed on

Hand a squaddie a brush and a can of paint.
Not sure what the British Navy version of a squaddie is. Maybe because they are the 'Senior Service' they capitalize the 'S'.

The Royal Navy equivalent is a Matelot.
