I am looking for a picture of the configuration of the fuel filler pipes behind the seats for dual fuel tanks.

I purchased the 73 series 3 and it was missing the plumbing for the fuel from the filler spout to both tanks under the seats.

I can not find picture that shows the setup so I can fix it.

So can someone please take a picture of theres and email it to me.....thank you.

Mines not a III but a 71 IIa with dual tanks.
Here is a picture the the left side hoses running to the tank.

It is just a regular right side hose cut in half on the straight section between the 2 tight bends and a piece of exhaust tubing slid inside and hose clamped. This way you can rotate the to bends opposite the original configuration and your good to go.
The splice ends up inside the wheel well.
Don't know if you can buy a real LH filler hose, and if you could I bet is would cost a bunch!

Now if you can find a mirror imagine inside cover panel for the left side that doesn't cost $200 let me know!!!:D

There is one thing I do not understand....Is there a "y" somewhere that goes to the other tank or am I just not understanding. From the picture it looks like it fills only one tank.

Sorry if I am not getting it...but I do appreciate the picture...its a start for me.

Mine has an electric switch over valve controlled by a 6 pole toggle switch on the dash which also switches over the corresponding fuel sending unit to the fuel gauge.
It is the same type of set up used in boats.
There is a mechanical valve that land rover used to switch over which tank you are running off that has a couple switches attach that changes the fuel sending unit. Located on the center front of the seat box.
I believe our hosts sell them.
OPPS looks like it is no long available, but they can be had.

Here is one similar to mine set up.

Ok...I am with you.. That I have located and that part works. The section is from Gas Cap to tank....

From tank to motor the switch works.

What I have been doing to fill the tanks. Tilt the seats forward and there is a jerry rigged hose for each separate tank that I pull a plastic cap off onside fill,. put plastic cap back on. Then go around to the other side and do the exact same thing for that tank. So I am not using the correct way to fill the truck because all that plumbing that goes to the real gas cap is missing. So right now my gas cap on the exterior of the truck is all cosmetic. I really would love to use the real gas cap and fill the tanks the right way.

Is this a better discription?

So it sounds like you need the hoses to connect your standard right side tank to the filler.
And hoses and hardware to connect the left side.
You will have to do a little cutting and pop riveting to install the left side filler.

The filler hardware comes up pretty regularly on eBay.

Left hand hardware is the same as the right.

Here is a picture of the left side filler hose from inside the tub.
I have never had a cover for this sides filler hose like the right side one.

So I would basically have to filler spouts ..one on each side is what you are saying. Is this a common practice for dual tanks?

Do you know how it would of originally been hooked up?

I believe this is how it was originally done?
I run one tank until empty, switch over and fill the empty one when I get a chance.
