Left over rear axle used for trailer?

I have a pretty rusted rear axle housing that is stripped to the casing. Has anyone used a gutted rear series axles or spindles as the basic for a trailer? Either a trailer for yard work or even a roadworthy trailer... If so any pics or ideas? TJR

That trailer is impressive, but it's funny that the axle housing is the one thing that didn't come off a Rover.
