has anyone painted their series in a more sand/khaki color? If so, I'm just curious as to what brand of paint you used, and what the color codes were. If it's possible, it would help alot if I could see some pictures. I wanted to paint my s1 the original sand/beige color, but no one can match the paint codes.

The original color is sand and the color code is in the Rovers North Catalog or you can just call them. If your painter can't find the code he's not looking hard enough. Mine found Bronze Green without any effort or help...

I think the last few posts show the color starting to go on.

^^ That is not a standard LR color. I'm using a flat military paint. It's Tan 686 CARC-substitute. It's the same desert camouflage paint used for Humvees.

Yeah, my picture seems to have performed a disappearing act. So here it is again (hopefully).

When I first changed the colour from light green to the Sand about 12 years ago, I went to an automotive paint supplier and he had a listing for Sand in PPG paint. Cost a small fortune for the primer, paint, reducer and hardener but it looked good. Two years ago while sprucing things up, I decided to repaint. This time I took a sample to the paint store, they matched it, and made up a gallon of Benjamin Moore’s best. Slapped it on with a roller and it looks almost as good and the spray job from years earlier… and cost about $45.00!!!

Sand has alway been my fav Land Rover colour.

From my invoice dated Aug. 1996, the item number for the Sand paint is DCC26291.

Sand was offered from the factory. I have seen a few truck with it as original paint...

What's the color the SAS used in Iraq? I know it's refered to as pink.
