I went to buy some Castrol GTLMA brake fluid for my brake & clutch systems. The bottle now states "New Formula" and "Synthetic Brake Fluid".

So, is anyone using the new formula GTLMA? Any issues?

I noticed that when I picked up my latest case of it. Been using it in my brakes and clutch, haven't noticed any issues w/ it yet.

Additionally, on the back of LRNDOT4 bottle it reads...

"DOT 4 motor vehicle brake fluid
Land Rover DOT 4 Motor Vehicle Brake Fluid is approved for all Land Rover vehicles. Meets DOT 4 minimum wet boiling point of 311˚F (155˚C). Conforms to FMVSS 116."

:thumb-up: Yes you can use this in your Series Land Rover. Not sure if it is synthetic (doesn't say it is on the label anywhere) and it is factory approved.

Wow, hadn't seen such before.... I know the green bible calls for either Girling or Castrol in a Series (RN carried Lucas, Girling and Castrol for years, hadn't looked recently to see if they still did). I don't think even my Disco's manual said anything about "LR genuine" brake fluid, I used Castrol in it, too..... Castrol's DOT3 and DOT4.... I wonder what the difference is betwixt LR Genuine and Castrol? Hmmm........

I have used the LRNDOT4 fluid in the 90 and Air Portable and all is well.
No discolouration of the fluid or loss of clutch or brake efficiency.

Anyone with any different expericences?
