Greetings:
Does anyone still manufacture or have the rubber gasket for the early style single wiper motors? This is the "formed" one that has the little bulge that protrudes through the windscreen to keep the elements out.
Thanks,
Chuck

As suggested on another board, perhaps a "group buy" is in order. I understand that PA Blanchard may have them.

I just sent an inquiry to Blanchard. I'll let you all know what I find out.

I didn't hear anything back today. If anyone else has any ideas on where to look I'll gladly coordinate a purchase.

Blanchard is out I think. Ike Goss says he can get them made if there is enough interest, he'd need like 30 potential orders:

I have been in contact with a place in England. His response was that he may have them but I need a Land Rover part #. Can anyone help us out? Lets see how many orders we are good for and I'll proceede from there. I'm good for 4 total.

Link stolen from Guns and Rover Forum (http://p200.ezboard.com/fgunsandroversfrm1.showMessage?topicID=7192.topic) to Series 2 Club Forum (http://nhua.co.uk/smf_1-0-5/index.php?topic=7967.0), if you read down the part numbers are in the second link.

To the best of my knowledge that is a Blanchard # not an "official" Land Rover part #. I need the Land Rover part # to be able to look into this further.

I just got a set out of the UK and I think they ended up coming from craddocks.

Tony (screen name Dopey) on the series 2 club forum helped me arrange it. However, like others have said, I had to buy several parts at once as craddocks wouldn't sell just the windshield wiper rubbers by themselves.

You might want to email him and see if he could help with a group buy.

The Landrover Part number for the wiper seal is 302987.
RN used to offer them, however the cost became too much for some owners , so we stopeed sourcing them and they have dwindled over the years to zero on the shelf.
Best of luck with the new source.

Why don't you just use a piece of flat rubber cut to fit?

It doesn't need the bulge in it.

Just take a small punch and punch out the center hole and the two mounting holes.

We are taking names and numbers over at Guns and Rovers for wiper rubber seals.

Ike Goss will make the seals for $10 a piece (about the same price as these would cost overseas), you will need 2 individual pieces for one rover. Ike has done this operation in the past, have a look see at the self canceling wheels he made for the series rover turn signal, they are NLA even from RoversNorth. (Here) (http://www.pangolin4x4.com/pangolin4x4/products/reproparts/signalwheels/signalwheel.html)

Please respond to this thread at Gun and Rovers if you wish to sign up for wiper rubbers. (Here) (http://p200.ezboard.com/fgunsandroversfrm1.showMessage?topicID=7200.topic)

Thanks

I am not trying to step on Guns and Rovers but, as I promised to this forum, I found a source for the rubber gaskets, Rover part # 302987, for $3.99 per gasket. If you are interested send an e-mail to trevor@rovahfarm.com and let Trevor know how many gaskets you want.
