The green light on the speedo... is that supposed to be on or off? Mine flickers due to an electrical problem in the dash and I am hunting that down... but I don't know if the light should be on or off when oil pressure is good. Green = good usually, but I am not sure in this case.

Thanks.

I have a white light on left/bottom ('64 109" ex-mil Safari wagon) that is on all da time. Wire/ tab on top of filter sensor :confused:has come undone from peg, and is hanging loose. Is dat what makes that light stay on? (it's not the GEN light). Can it be resoldered, or does it hafta be replaced?

Green light is on when you turn ignition on. Once the car starts-green light needs to go off. If it is still on, it is indicating(if working properly) that you have low oil pressure.

Green is bad in this case;)

Yes, Green is bad...
If your oil pressure is fine, then it might be that the oil pressure switch is bad... The switch is located on top of the oil filter...

BTW, anyone know what is the spec. Lbs. of oil pressure to trip the light?

On my old Series 3 the housing of the light was touching on the metal dash housing and caused flickering. I would check that, the light should be out.

Thanks for all the info guys.

Another question...

There's two other lights there on the speedo. The High Beam light, which is obvious... but what's the "Cold Start" amber light's purpose?

The "cold start light" lets you know that the choke is on and to remind you that it needs to be turned off when the engine is warm.

Thanks! I guess I need to determine why that one is not working properly as well. :thumb-up:
