I just had an NRP stainless steel exhaust from our hosts installed on my 88" but I think that the shop added some extra mounts to it.

Does anyone have pictures of a NRP system installed that they can post or send me?

I'm specifically looking for pics of the exhaust hangers near the transmission and at the rear of the rover.

Thanks in advance,
seth

Seth,

Here are the photos we have of the NRP Series exhaust installed. I'm sure that the shop took good care of you and mounted up the exhaust properly.

thanks for the pics. It appears my shop added another mount on the left side of the muffler can where the U-clamp is. I don't guess that it will hurt anything. We'll see.

Thanks for those detailed pictures Thompson.

I already have the NRP exhaust installed on my 88" lightweight and have had a terrible time with the mounts.

I'm not sure if it could possibly be my own fault but I did take time to fit everything loose first, shake wiggle and try as I could, I still couldn't get it right. I only realized this after I tightened everything up.

The second picture shows the rear hanger. I honestly don't know why they used that rigging because I think the standard rover type clamp would have done the job. Mine bent downwards and no longer will hold the rubber connector on any more. The middle pancake style rubber piece has ripped and been replaced once already. It ripped again within a week or so. All of this happened within about 1000 miles of installing it.

Although our hosts were concerned and wanted to help me out, all they could do was direct me to their local 4x4 install shop. When I called them, they had no experiences like I had.

I've resorted to bailing wire which has been holding well for the last 12 months but the down pipe is currently rubbing against the frame which is no fun at idle. :sly:

Again, I don't know if this was my fault during install or if the lightweight frame is different or if it is due to the design of the NRP but it's a bit of a let down in my case.

Another thing to note is that I am running on 33" BFG mud terrains and on full articulation, the rear passenger side tire gets hung up on the exhaust tip. I also found this happened when the back is filled to the brim with cement blocks...

On a good note, it sounds nice (slightly louder than stock with a bit of a kick in the tone) and seems to be delivering better performance. Heck I know it's giving me better performance!
:thumb-up:

Wish my camera was working so I could post the shots. I'd say loose fit and check everything before tightening the joints up and committing yourself to the setup. If it fits right you'll probably love it.

Good luck,
Tim
