Harbor Freight carries this $12.95 wonder, and everyone should have one in their cubby. Infared thermometer with an LED display. Quite accurate. Priceless. Currently on sale @ $9.95 (last week). If you have the V8, and still have Lucas water temp stuff, this can save ya a truckload of money!!! Can be used for cooking too...very handy for food temp readings. The 'pistol' form is still available for around $70 (down from $120).

Raytec makes a really good product..I bought mine about 10 years ago when they were a lot more pricey, comp has brought down the price a lot. U can get a really good one for under $150 now..I use mine aLOT, check 4 engine miss, bad glow plug, blocked radiator tubes, dragging brake, wheel or drive line. anywhere there is heat being generated..I would question the quality of a $12 unit..JMO
