Were the Land Rover engines used in any other applications? Cars, boats, machinery, etc.

I used to own a Triumph TR8 that had a Aluminum 3.5l V8 that was also used in a production Rover. It was originally designed for a Buick.

I have been told that the classic London taxi of the period used the Rover 2.25L diesel engine. And don't forget the Rover cars often shared the same base engines with the Land Rover, but with different refinements.

The Morgan +8, MGBGTV8 and a few others made use of that aluminum V8.

The old Austin FX4design was sold to Carbodies who used the Land Over 2.5L NA diesel from 1982 on with the FX4R. Later on the design was sold to London Taxis International who again used the LR 2.5L in the FX4S. The 2.25L engines were not used in these vehicles.

Now the 3.5V8 and its descendents has been used to power all manner of machines.

The Ford/International 2.8L Powerstroke is based very heavily on the 300tdi, apparently.

I'd always wondered what they got out of that deal...
