I'm going to be replacing the pinion seals on my Rover diffs - both are a bit leaky. From our hosts - the locking tabs for the seal retainers are NLA. Its anyone's guess how long the old ones have been there, so being as careful as possible I may only ruin half of them during removal.

Does anyone know of a source for these? If not, would a lock washer be a suitable replacement for them?

Thanks loads

I drilled the bolt heads and safety wired them. If they are like mine the locking tabs will break when bending due to corrosion/rust, remember you vehicle is at least 40 years old.

You could make you own locking tab plates and corner the market.

Trevor at The Rovah Farm shows them as available on his web site.

Thanks. I'll try Trevor's site - hate to pay S&H for something so small.

Jared, can you give any details on wiring them? Is this wiring them together in pairs so they anchor each other?

You'll find his shipping to be very reasonable, especially something that can be put in an envelope.

Maine's not all that tiny. Trevor's place is over 5 hours from me. I could probably get to NYC quicker.

rbonnett, here is a little info:

http://www.whizwheels.com/Tips/safetywiring.html

You could use safety wire tabs, if you dont have a drill press or jigs. I learned in the USMC, and grabbed most of my tools from kennedy kits the squadron was sending to salvage. It looks pretty neat and professional if done right.

my bust, got ya mixed up w/ all those other tiny states up there. nm is a bit bigger than me and i live in the middle and even in a series i don't think it would take much long the 5 hrs to get to the furthest corners.

I guess I'm insane for chucking those lock tabs and using blue Loctite, but so far so good.:D
