I have an ex military ambulance 109" IIA 69' or 70'.

The wipers kept flowing the fuse to I pulled the single speed unit ( looks a lot like the two speed but round motor body) and cleaned it up, cleaned rust off the iron part of the windings inside the motor, greased the gears and parts that move with synthetic grease and it runs great!

...

until I reconnect it to the spiral wire mechanism that moves the wipers. Then it just blows the fuse. The mechanism for the wipers works much easier than it did and if I try to stop the wiper motor with my hand, I cannot so I don't think it is over loading the motor.

I took it back apart, disconnected it from the wiper mechanism and the motor works fine again. Is there something wrong with the motor or am I possibly putting back together wrong?

A also wonder what the box with the two yellow things (resistors) inside is for. It is connected through the body of the motor with an orange/yellow and a blue/green wires?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
