    Ser III Seats

Does anyone have any durability experience these seat cushion?

    http://www.roversnorth.com/store/p-4825-seat-bottom-deluxe-outer-series-iia-iii.aspx

I'm considering the set for my SIII , but the OE one seemed to split at the seams quite easily.
I had also wanted to consider a seat back w/a head rest but those don't seem to be offered as a direct fit for a series Vehicle.

    Thanks... TJR

The vynil is very thin that covers these seats. I have a bernese Mountain Dog, and while he weighs 130#, his nails are quite smooth. He punctured 3 holes in one of these in an afternoon. I'm not sure how old the seats are, as I purchased the vehicle with them already installed, but they are also beginning to separate at the seams on the back panels. I'm considering a higher backed design as a replacement in the spring. Many people have suggested bestop as an alternative mfg. but I am unsure how much modification will be required to fit a set of these.

I am not sure that having a 130# dog test out the seat is a fair assessment

My experience with the seats has been positive so far. Unlike the original style seat, which had sewn pleats, the pleats on these seats are heat sealed. The vinyl seems to be a good grade and I think they are very fairly priced for what you get.

My seats still look new after using them for one year. If you are tall then the first thing you will notice if you purchase new seats that you will be much closer to the roof top. When driving looking out the windscreen will also be a different view. Maybe you need a 130 lb. dog to break in the seat bottoms, just put some boots on him first.

Mine are going on two years and still look new. As mentioned, if you're tall, you will have trouble seeing out the windscreen because of the increased seat height. I got tired of craning my neck to see traffic lights, so I disassembled the driver side and removed about two inches of foam. Although I can see out now, because of the less cushy mod, three hours is about all I can stand to drive.
