Diesel fuel pump

I have a 1975 LR Diesel truck and it appears that the fuel pump stopped working. Can I get an electric pump from napa or any of those places and replace it? how much pressure would I need to make it work right? Thanks

If you mean an electric lift pump, a NAPA pump will do. If you mean the high pressure distributor pump, thats a different story. As long as you have no fuel line leaks and your fuel filter is not stuffed full or frozen, you can get by without a lift pump at all.
