I have a 1988 classic parts truck and was wondering if the front seats would fit into a series 2a 109?
Has anybody out there done this? I have dual military tanks so they would need to lift..any tips, advice much appreciated:thumb-up:
Thanks
Greg

I've seen Defender seats in a series III 109. I would measure the seat bottom to see if will be too long for the seat box on your IIa. The PO of my IIa installed some bucket seats from a 69 Firebird onto the seat box in a fixed position. The seat bottom extend too far over the box and they get in the way of my legs on the pedals so I have to lift and stomp-Frankenstein style to shift and brake. Getting them to lift will require a mod to the tracks or something fabricated. I wonder if the tracks for the two door RRC's or Disco I's have a lift forward feature to aid the passenger in the back getting in and out?

Funny you should ask. I've been looking at doing the same thing. I did pull out the stock series seats and set a seat from a 1988 Range Rover in there. The seat will fit however, even at the lowest setting the seat is too high. You would be lucky to be able to see a traffic light without having to bend over. The only solution I could see would be to rework the seat boxes to a lower height which I did not want to do.

I opted to purchase a used set of defender seats which will pretty much be a simple bolt in.

Anyone want some used 88 range rover seats?

Any chance you still have the series seats and are looking to unload them???

If you are over 6 feet tall you won't be able to see well with the range rover seats. I have them in my 109 sw and they would only be useful if i was constantly driving into the sun.

I'm only 5'10" and they would still be too high for my liking.

I have dual military fuel tanks under my front seats, and I've recently fitted a pair of Mazda seats. And it works great.
Quite a few Danish Series owners have fitted seats from different Mazdas.

I have fitted two hinges in the back of each seat ao I'm able to lift both seat's to fill it.
