Door Stays

I have an SIIA bulkhead with new series III style doors. The door stays (the rod that limits the opening of the doors) are different on the two models. Any of you have any ideas of how to fabricate or ideas of what to do for door stays?

I just cut the brackets off the old doors and welded them to the new frames. You could probably get away with bolts or rivets if you can't get them welded.
