The good: I finally started work on my Rover to see why I only had 30lbs of pressure on cylinders 3+4.
The Bad: The head gasket that is missing a piece between cylinders 3+4
The Ugly: The nice crack on the cylinder head between cylinders 3+4
Seeing as I have some gift certificates left over from Christmas, do I go ahead and get a new cylinder head? Do I pull the head off of the spare ex-mil engine of unknown quality that is in my side yard? Decisions decisions.
Also, personally I would prefer not to get into the rest of the engine right now. Since I haven't used the truck in awhile one of the cylinder walls has some surface rust.( I think I left a sparkplug out for a bit a little while back) My feeling is to attend to the head, get it running, use it and worry about the pistons only if I have to.
Any thoughts?
