Looks like I'm getting an imported '84 D90. It has UK factory trailer wiring that I'd like to adapt to US style wiring. Does anybody know of an adapter out there?

you need a 7 wire to 4 wire adapter. Every autoparts store sells them.

Unless you have the MOD 12 pin wiring set up.
Easy enough to tap into the RH rear harness behind the lamp cover.
Make a good job of it and use bullet connections NOT Scotchlox.

I have the 12 pin setup and the funny thing is every wire in the harness is yellow! Hopefully i can make some extra cash this summer to import a Sankey to plug into it!

I'd need something like this to make an adapter I think...

If you look on the yellow wires there should be rings on them with individual letters, i.e B an J are for the stop lamps, E is for the rear tail lamps etc.

nice, thanks. I'll just tap in my own 4-pin harness then.

I got mine at British Pacific a few years ago.12n to flat four, although I had to rewire it as the wires were not in the correct places. You will also need a european light adapter.

Look under accessories; disco I; trailer harness, the number is YMZ500480. Thers is a picture but as I said I had to rewire to the correct postion, which was not hard. As for the European wire adapter, it can be bought at any auto supply store.

I think you'd be better off getting the UK trailer wiring kit. I'm no fan of the US system.

I'm not pulling a specific trailer, just want to have the wiring when I do. I've pulled a few u-hauls, flatbed trailers, etc and they've always been 4-pin (or the U-haul proprietary that i have the adapter for).

Yes, U-haul sucks
