2A headlamp operation

Twas a question I answered before the evening was over, but apparently one can not delete an entire post (nor remove a subject line). Since replies must be 3 characters, I chose dots.

The question was, is the proper operation of the headlamp switch...

1. Full up for off.
2. Halfway down for parking lamps.
3. Full down for headlamps.

..and since mine was a US version, full down meant extinguishing the parking lamps. This turned out to be a footnote in my big green book. That critical note is not on the online wiring diagrams found on the 'net.

I rerouted the clearly wrong wiring positioning and despite a scary looking peek behind the dash panel, the magic smoke remained in the wiring.

So there you have it. Case closed before it sent to the world for response!
