Radio wiring harness for imported '84 ninety

Does anybody know where I can get a harness in order to put an aftermarket stereo into my '84 Ninety? something like this -> http://www.crutchfield.com/p_120701758/Receiver-Wire-Harness.html

I'm confident its more than likely different than a NAS' D90's harness, i'm just not sure what I need.

It all depends on the ICE unit you are thinking of fitting, all the harness' are year/model/ICE specific.

ICE unit? I'm looking to just get a basic DIN stereo with an aux in, like this -> http://www.crutchfield.com/p_158GT240/Sony-CDX-GT240.html?c=3&tp=5684&avf=N and need to know the adapter harness I'll need to wire it up (i'd prefer not to cut the factory wiring)

Hmm, this sounds familiar. Of course there is no telling what is there without putting eyes on it. If it is the original 84 harness there is probably no factory plug in location. I doubt any radio was installed @ delivery. If you for some reason have a later harness there may be one, might help to post up on lr4x4.com where there are more Uk users that may have experience with factory setups of non-US vehicles

90/110s were not fitted with radios in the factory until some time in the 1990's (I think... Could even have been as late as the Td5 models), so anything you have in there is home made.

It's shouldn't be hard to make one. When I've done it, I've bought the plug to match the stereo that comes with a few inches of wire sticking out of it. In the packet there will be a wiring daigram telling you what each colour wire does. Simply run in a fused live, and some speaker wire, and job done.

any idea what that plug is? same as other Defenders?

seeing how basic it is, I might just cut/splice. This may not be worth it.

Aaahh...good old connector blocks. Makes any wire fit any other wire...until it falls out. :D

The radio housing is a Genuine housing from a later model. Those connector blocks were never used by Land Rover. They are a bit of a bodge to be honest. I would take them out and do it again.

Is it a UK import?

Actually, yes, I can see it's a UK model.

It's all home made, so chop and change, or rip it out and start again. At least that way you know where the wiring goes.
