Took my drive shafts apart today, one came apart no problemo. The other had some real nasty grease and rust going on. Inside the dust cap there is some type of seal and a sort of snap ring holding it in place...yet the green bible shows nothing. Ive checked with RN and they agree, those parts dont exist in the land rover part # world. What would be a good way to replace them so my grease will stay in there like it should?

Wont have a photo until tonight. Its the threaded cap that holds both ends of the shaft together and prevents grease from filling up inside the boot.

I have seen a felt ring under these driveshaft caps to keep the grease in. Used to make them from an old felt snowmobile boot liner. Can't get more Canuck than that, eh:thumb-up::thumb-up:

I figured id have to make my own but one of the caps is pretty rusted and im hoping i can reuse it...heres a picture of the good one. The retaining ring and felt washer are inside. Anyone know where to get some new ones?
