I need to start wokring on my bulkhead (Ser III) and I'm looking for ideas for a workstand for it. What have you used or fabricated... Hanging it from my engine hoist isn't good enough any more.

Thanks.. Talbot

We use a rotisserie at the shop and it works great. Was made in house.PM me for details.

Matt Browne has one in Eliot. 'm sure he'd let you look at it and take measurements.

Abit blurry, but I built up a jig using ECR's example as an online guide. I was able to use my bulkhead as a template before ripping it down, and the bulkhead fits fine on the frame. You'd want to put post stays at the bottom of each side of the jig obviously. Note in this photo, there is only 1.

That said, I think Ike of Pangolin 4x4 fame did a bulkhead jig using a simple angle iron square of sorts. Don't remember the details, but it was much simpler and I think would make alot more sense than building up a jig like this - which would probably be more useful for production work. Although it does allow you to practice your welding. Check his site, it might be referenced there.

Depending on you're method of reconstruction, you can also use you're frame as a jig. Screw the assembly together, and then remove from the frame to weld. Works well, and you don't' have to spend time and $ on buidling a jig.
