Many years ago I saw a modification in the doors which added tropical top roof vents for cooling.

Does anyone know where to find the entire vent assembly? (new or used)

Best,

seems a bit pricey for venting a door.

I used to see that done a lot more than it is now- the expense of the vents (today) makes using them as kick vents pretty prohibitive. I still have pictures somewhere of a truck at the ANARC rally in '98 that was set up that way- the owner really liked how well they worked. If they move as much air as the vents on an FJ40 I could really see the benefit of them.

I used a UPS truck side vent in the driver's door of my 88. They are available for about $35.00 from a number of vendors, just google "step van parts" and check the sites for side vents.

My UPS driver supplied the one I had, from a truck they were junking. They are aluminum, held in place by rivets or #10 screws, and open in both directions allowing air to blow in or vent out.

I intend to install a set in the back sides of the wife's 109, as there is plenty of air coming in thru the roof vents, but little exiting the rear of the interior.

No pics, as I junked the 88 doors after the rollover.

One of the 88's on the vintage rovers across africa had this. you can see it here: http://drivetheglobe.com/vintageroversacrossafrica/ . Thanks for the original post/query and for the LRseries.com link. I just placed an order for one (driver side).
