    bonnett

    i have just purchased a 1971 2A one of the 1st million questions i have is, why is the bonnett not down on the wings? is it the hinge on the side of the cowl or on the bonnett itself? or did somone move the hinge hieght? i do not see any distortion to any body parts or evidence that the hinges have been moved. thanks for the help.

    I have never seen a Series vehicle with the bonnett sitting directly on the wings. There is always a gap. I suppose you could add a piece of weatherstripping if you wanted.

        adjust the latch or adjust the fender fit to the rad panel, you should be able to get close.

          The bonnet is not supposed to be sitting directly on the wings on a Series vehicle. But if you want, you could add a Defender rear-door rubber seal. Like many other Europeans, I have done this. I Have never experienced an overheating issues.
          In the winter it's nice not to have snow in the engine bay.
