How to tell if R380 installed??

Looking at a '94 POE (I think it is anyway, it has the aluminum hard top)..How can I determine if it has the newer tranny??

Is the truck a 5 speed? If yes, continue.

Crawl under the truck and have a look...

Google up some pix of what a R380 looks like.

Well, its a 94 so it has to be a 5-speed...and I think the R380 has the reverse to the right and down...???

Was hoping somebody would confirm this.

Yes, the R380 reverse is to the right and back.

Correct. R380 has the reverse to the right and down. Lt77 is to the left and up.
