I had this problem about 2 years ago where I couldn't get second gear to engage. With help from this forum I discovered a small screw inside the transmission that adjusts the second gear throw. I managed to adjust it thru the small plate on top of the tranny but the problem has returned. I suspect that the locking nut didn't hold the adjusting screw firmly enough. There isn't much room to operate 2 small wrenches and get the locking nut tight enough and I was wondering if there is another solution to my problem. Should I use thread locker or will this stuff work in an oily situation?
