round yellow plates on Grills ?

I often see a yellow plastic looking badge on series grills, does that designate something specific for European status of some kind ? Kinda throws me off a bit for the overall look...

Round yellow plates would me military bridge classification plates. They designate weight of vehicle in tons first number and with a trailer second number. This is for military to know weight of vehicles to roughly determine weight on bridges, ferries or other structures. Ex mod owners would be able to give more info if this is what you are talking about.

Are you talking about a yellow grille badge like the AA badge in photo 1 or a large metal bridge plate like in photo 2 ??:
