Hey Guys,

If you were going to look for good used tires for a Series Land Rover, where would you look?

The Grocery Store.

Come On dude, are you serious? Try a tire shop.

Tire store, junk yard, ebay, craigslist, local paper, local repair shops, internet, swap meets.....

By the time you buy them, have them mounted and balanced, it's probably not much more for a brand new generic brand of tire though. You need to be carefull buying used. Sometimes they look fine but are structurally not so good.

OK, full disclosure. I am asking because I have a set (actually 6) of like-new Nokia Hakkapeliitta 10 in 225/75/16 and I'd like to sell them, but Rovers North doesn't want parts listed for sale on their forums. I'm trying to avoid the Bay, so I thought I'd ask real Series Land Rover enthusiasts there they would look.

And just for the moderators' sake, this is *not* a classified ad for used tires.

Thanks,

Myron

Sounds like free tires for a minimum donation to the Myron Rover Restoration Fund.

Craigslist.

For BUYING used tires I often have gone to the local u pull it, They usually have sales $10 for any tire and rim, it is surprising how many people junk vehicles with nearly new or brand new tires on them.

You can post sale items at landroveronly. I've bought and sold a few items there. Your tires are somewhat specialized and Craiglist might not hit your market...but would not hurt...price for listing is right at both sites

why would rn object to parts they don't carry being posted? they don't sell tires, do they? pirate4x4.com has a well read classified section

Excellent suggestions. Thanks, you guys. Just so you know, the Myron Rover Restoration Fund is a.k.a. the Myron Divorce Lawyer fund.

And hey, if anybody's in the Grand Rapids (MI) area, these are great tires. Four have less than 1000 miles on them and two have zero miles on them. I'll let them go for about 1 hour's worth of a good attorney's time. :)

Second Craigslist.

How do they fit under the Rover? Gonna be, what, slightly shorter and slightly narrower than the standard modern translation of the old tire size (usually 7.5x16 is translated to 235/85/16 ), is that correct?

Any pics of 'em on?
