Here are some pics of a good little Rover proudly serving her community.

It is hard to be proud in that paint scheme, but a rover doing a job, none the less.

There are several series Rovers in the Animal Kingdom parade, there are also similar vintage Land Cruisers and Jeeps. They have all been covered to electric power and (unfortunately) painted in wild patterns.

Is it bad if the only thing that bothers me in that picture is the grille?

The grill had me too.

I'd be interested to see that electric conversion. Someone surely went the extra yard on the exterior and I wonder what it looks like under the hood.

Good stuff either way. :thumb-up:

My wife is a Disney addict and has told and pointed out the "hidden Mickey's" that are everywhere at Disney World-the grill is just a continuation of that. I'd like to see how they converted the vehicles as well. They are only used in the daily parades and many have elaborate modifications and additions. The last time I saw the parade I could help think that there were so many good candidates for restoration.

There are also several series Rovers used in the Kilamanjaro Safari Ride as props and a static display, I'll try to grab some pic's when I'm there at the end of the month.

It has been a while since I was there, but if I recall there was a 88" crashed into something with crates all around- the whole truck had been covered in fiberglass or was made of fiberglass entirely.

On the car? It looks like it...

I also have some pics of another 88 that is a static display near the exit of the Safari Truck ride.

I guess it's good to see them being put to use vs. rotting away somewhere

Aye that looks like the one I was thinking of, but it was a gray color when I saw it. Is it not fiberglass? it looks like sheet metal there...
