So I've come to the realization that my door tops are done. The glass is done, the frame is rotting through, the tracks are crap and the studs are stripped off.

Any suggestions on the best course of action? I'm thinking I just need to procure Defender Door tops. Is there another option or ?

Thanks for any help.

The aluminum ones are really nice. I went with a steel replacement due to availability and that I was buying from an old friend. But I wish I would have went aluminum. :(

Rocky Mountain Door tops.

They are aluminum and have rubber window tracks that slide like they are on butter....and the two pieces open and close.

These are amazing - the last tops you will ever buy.

I bought just the aluminum tops (no glass or tracks) when Rocky Mountain only offered them unglazed, and put my own glass in (along with stainless tracks from a marine supply store).

The rubber tracks they now have look like the best way to go, IMO. And I wish I had the nifty double sliding windows.

You can also buy the steal pro-series ones from our hosts and get them galvanized. They don't warp. Then use the plastic, dual window track from Beckson marine. Both windows will slide then. If you need a lock, this will work: http://www.bonanzle.com/booths/fradonlock/items/Combi_Ratchet_Sliding_Glass_Door_Showcase_Cabinet_ Lock

Note that if you're going to galvanize them DEFINATELY get the pro-series, NOT the Land Rover real-deal. The real ones have extra steel that just gives water and stuff more room to hide in. The Pro Series ones are simpler built.
