You don't have to look too hard zimbos, new ones are being produced everyday. The difficult part is spending the coin. That, and deciding if you want a fairey or a Roamerdrive.
Bad gas mileage gets you to some of the greatest places on earth.

109 SIII 5 Door soft top 235 85/r16 tires w/2.5 NA Diesel engine w/roamerdrive. The fastest I think was about 70, but I dont drive at that speed regularly, mostly when speeding up briefly as I approach an uphill stretch. The 2.5 seems to have more torque at 60 versus 55.

My 69' 2A with OD likes 60mph.......it will run a little faster, but I don't usually.

          I have stopped my 57' S1 @ 80mph..........I don't care how much faster it will go, it's scary.......it has a V8.

Can you post pics of the drivetrain? From your description I assume you have the 196ci 4 cylinder from an International Scout II? You should be able to do a good deal better than 45, as your engine is more powerful than the bulk of Rover 4 cylinders out there

              '72 88", 2.25 petrol, Weber 34ICH and Roverdrive, 7.50x16 G90's

Cruises very comfortably at 55 or a little over even on moderate grades, will do ~65+ top speed level, but neither it nor I are happy for long there.
