I haven't gotten the S3 up to where we have a place in Tahoe yet but both the Defender and a modern Range Rover with chains on all four wheels are pretty much unstoppable. This I know. Not unusual to have 18-24" overnight and they are still good to go before it is cleared.funny thing about plows
when we here in ct spanked with all that snow the other day
i was working that night and in the morning i had about three people ask if i would follow them to make sure they would make it home.
and when i got them all tucked in there homes as im going down the road the only other vehicles i saw were giant snow plows that you cant see until there 50 feet in front of you. i never felt more proud of my rover. like i was actually using it for what it was made for.

The Liberal Cup is still here, Going out there tonight. Don't ever call Hallowell a town, I made that mistake at the "city hall" when I registered my truck. I was promptly corrected by the clerk! Hallowell is officially the smallest city in Maine, but it is also the liberal capital north of Portland. I pride myself in telling folks I reside in West Hallowell, as we are the only conservitive part of town. If the real estate market ever picks up, I am looking to move to the Yarmouth area.

I have the same plate. When I used to live in Chapel Hill, NC they claimed we had a snow plow but I never saw it. They still hadn't replaced the horse team.
In Ronnie I have a plate with snowplowing instructions on it mounted to the dash does everyone else have such a plate? It's always been there since Ronnie resided in Key West, Fla before I took ownership of him.Leave a comment:

plows
Wow, back in 1979 or was it 80 we had about 17" of snow here in Va. I was taking medical staff back and forth to work at SWMBO's hospital ( she's an RN retired now). Anyway on Tidewater drive I looked in the rear view and a city plow oh, Mr. Plow..sorry was following in my tracks. I thought at the time that things were backward. The ole' 1966 109 SW with 8 nurses on board just went soldering on pushing the snow out of the way for Mr. Plow.

That's funny, it's the only state in the nation without snow. Yes, Hawaii has snow, in the higher elevations on the big island. http://www.bestplaceshawaii.com/tips...ahuna/ski.htmlLeave a comment:

Yeah, Isn't Hallowell about the size of a few blocks in Atlanta?Um...city?
Huh. Just looked it up on the official Hallowell Government website. It IS a city (as of 1852). Population: 2,467. 5 square miles. That's a plow truck for every 822 residents. No wonder they're selling one of the plows on the city website.

This thread has brightened my day with the LR and Office Space quotes.
How many LR owners work in IT?

Atlanta has 11 plows...literally. Biggest issue is most of the roads are still iced over, especially the hills. Not so sure they have too many snow plows in Atlanta (though it looks as if they have at least one, by the photo). Fortunately it was only a slight dusting, by the looks of it.
I was hoping all the snow would stay in Dixie this winter. My hopes were badly shattered yesterday.
You northerners can have your snow back.Leave a comment:
