Radio Code Almost Worked

I have a '95 LWB and the radio was asking for the code when I bought it.
Entering the code made it flash on and off with 88.1 on the radio dial.
There is no sound.

Does anybody have a suggestion for what to do next?
...or should I just get an aftermarket?
