Default Series 2 Galvanized Door / Tailgate Hinge Bolt

    Hi all,

    1961 Series 2 ---

The only bolts I have been able to find are Zinc Plated Grade 5 or the Yellow Zinc Grade 8 for the size 5/16 x 24 thread. I believe the part Rover recommends is a Yellow Zinc Grade 8 - not sure.

Can anyone confirm or better yet, what are my options to obtain Galvanized Bolts in the 5/16x24 thread or shall I just use the Rover recommended Yellow Zinc.

Not exactly the worlds biggest problem - thanks in advance

    Kaan.,

Tractor supply has galvanized bolts. You could also try Mcmaster-Carr www.mcmaster.com

You are going to have a tough time finding hot-dipped galvanized high strength bolts, or any galvanized fine thread bolts at all. Just use the Grade 5 or Grade 8 bolts from the local hardware store and you'll be fine - you can replace them when they start to show corrosion. Other options would be to use high strength stainless from someplace like www.totallystainless.com, or Mcmaster Carr carries some "ultra corrosion resistant" Grade 8 bolts.

    Default thank you!!!!

much appreciated, my endless search is finally over. I went with the Grade 8 from McMaster that has that armor coating and it looks like the hot dipped from the pics online. Thanks again,

    Kaan.
