Sqeaking cargo door

Alright, I tried to avoid the forum. But alas I need help with this.
I have a 95 disco with a sweak coming from the rear cargo door area.
I cannot hear it in park (occasionaly when I first start up)
-mostly while driving. These are the things I have done to try and
alleviate the symptom: 1. checked all bodywork screws around the area
they seemed fine.
2. the cargo door guide (keeps the door from
opening too far) it was uneven and loose
fitting, so I added a washer and cleaned it up.
- this actually stopped the noise for 5 mi. WTF
3. I've tried wiggling the door (all 5 doors)
to see if I could mimick the sound - no luck
I suspect that the door is rubbing somewhere, as I've seen some
paint wear on the cargo door in various places - but it touches the
rubber seal (can rubber and metal create such a loud and annoying
sqeak?
4. I tried duct taping several spots wear the
rubbing could be - no luck!
I also suspect the possibility that something inside the door is loose
I would love some feedback before I take off the panel and all.
plus I cant seem to mimick the sound unless I'm driving!!??

Has anyone had this happen or have any insight.
The sqeaking is driving me crazy and I'm convinced
its an easy fix, once I find what needs to be fixed.

It could be rubber on metal squeak.

Mike has a BMW X3 and has had it back to the dealer several times for the annoying squeak.

They lubricate the seals and it's fine for a few months...

Not the guide, but the actual latch post itself.

Get a large allen wrench (I don't remember the size off the top of my head), that fits the center of the post. You can loosen the post, tap it towards the front of the vehicle, then tighten it back. Your door is a touch loose, you can't reproduce it by jiggling the vehicle, but as you drive along, it can rattle a bit... by adjusting the post forward, you'll tighten up how tight the door is when closed, and should cut down on the rattle.

I was able to tap the post forward a bit, the door know closes tighter
and should rattle less if at all.
I havent driven the Rover yet to see if it actually did the trick, but
I have faith that it was the answer to
an annoyance like no other on a vehicle like no other!

In case the seal also was making sounds, I used Armor All on all the door
seals. I recommend cleaning and treating the rubber on the door seals
as preventative maintenance care, twice a year (or as needed)- Armor All is great stuff!
