    Default paper vs rubber washers

ok so i hope this isnt the most petty question around, but here it goes ...

I am almost done (god i hope i didnt just jinx it) with a weeks long project where i took off all the panels and most of the carpet in my 1995 RRC LWB to kill rust. I used paint stripper and stripped off all of the old gunk and then after hours of scraping and sanding i went throug the KBS three step rust protection process and used some fiberglass to patch a bunch of holes that had been flooding the front footwells with every rain.

redid the undercoating and hope to never do any of this again

my question is about the paper washers that i think rover uses to prevent the aluminum and steel from touching and causeing oxidation. Can I use rubber washers instead when i reasemble - may of the paper ones had really decomposed. What is the better choice?

    Thanks

use rubber, i use old bike tubes that I cut up to insulate the aluminum and steel.
