Can anyone tell me if one needs a case spreader to install a detroit locker in a Salisburyrear end? And can anyone suggest someone good in CT that can do it? thanks Jim

I put the Detroit in my Salisbury without a spreader.
A trick used with other Dana 60 axles is to feed a wad of rag between the pinion and the ring gear as the pinion is rotated (after the hold down bolts and caps are removed) This will push the carrier out.
