Default Information on the original plates??

Hi team, been away from this board for a while, just have a query that I have been wondering about since seeing something on here about original plates a few daze ago........
My Rover has both plates, front & rear are the same..what information can be gleaned from these?
I would like to find out as much history as I can; both plates share the same # on 8 x 11 black & silver plates.
    thanks for any advice.........Donnie

You can tell the first year the vehicle was registered and the area in which it was first registered. Lots of reading, but the info is here:

Nah. It's just a license plate.
