On the back of my disco I, there is a knob the size of my thumb tip.
its up near the gutter that runs the length of the vehicle- hope that
cluea ya in. What the heck is it?
More? - its black. Actually, looks more like a thimble.

Press the top right binnacle button... as long as everything is functioning properly, you should see washer fluid from the black thimble. You'll probably need to hold the button for awhile since this would seem to be the first time it has been used in awhile - and it's a decent distance from the fluid reservoir back to the rear window!
