    Default LEAF SPRINGS SAGING

    after reading forums I am thinking my back right spring is soft its an inch lower, they are eleven leaf springs on my 73 series 3 88". do I look for a place to re arc them or replace , is 11 standard , not planning on loading much or mudding , any advice thank you

    If it were me, I would take them to a local spring shop. Thing is, that rearcing doesn't guarantee that they won't sag again after a few months. New main leafs are probably in order, but I'd ask the shop.
    Parabolics are also an option.

    Hey Zimbos.

    Remember that standard springs are "handed" in that the drivers' side springs sit a little higher than the passenger to compensate for the driver's weight when not carrying passengers. As o2batsea quite rightly says, if they have sagged then you can have the springs re-arced or retempered which can sometimes produce good results.

    Cheaper aftermarket springs are notorious for sagging, but originals should be OK. I replaced mine with high quality OEM-spec ones made by GME but if I were to do it again I'd go for parabolics.
