Default '86 Land Rover Santana, SWB ("88) LHD Diesel Station Wagon

1986 Land Rover Santana SWB Diesel Station Wagon. Excellent condition for a 28 year old vehicle, hard to find in this condition. Newer dark green paint with contrasting cream tropical roof and matching rims. Imported from Salamanca, Spain. Left Hand Drive, 4 cyl 2.25l diesel engine w/ 4 speed manual transmission, vented tropical roof. Short wheelbase ("88) station wagon model with split bench seats (40/60) in front and fold down seats in rear. Swing away rear door. Full time 4 wheel drive, spare tire mounted inside on rear bulkhead behind driver's compartment (not shown). Odometer shows 38,980+ kms, total mileage is believed to be 138,980 kms (86,167 mi). Spanish registration of this age does not reflect mileage. Body panels are in great condition, nothing more than surface rust on frame and bulkhead. Both footwell bottoms are checker plated. Engine starts right away and pulls as a 2.25l diesel should, some smoke on start up. Interior and seats are in excellent shape as well. 16" rims, could use larger 7.5 X 16 tyres. Awaiting title and registration. Family change forces sale. More pictures upon request. The Landy is located in Wilmington, Delaware (30 min South of Philadelphia and 1 hour North of Baltimore). Will help with shipping if able.
Asking $24,000 USD. Payment via cashier's check, PayPal or cash accepted.

$$$? Nice Santana! Shouldn't be a problem finding a buyer, but good luck with the sale anyway!

I know no poster wants to hear this, but I just sold a '76 2.25 diesel from Costa Rica in very similar condition and color for slightly more than half of what you are asking. Very tough market for trucks over $20K

Truck looks great. Salamanca, Spain... home of the best chorizo in the world. Drive it down to Rehoboth Beach with a for sale sign on it I bet someone would make it a beach house truck. Good luck.

Thanks very much for the input and advice. Passionate Land Rover fan, never had a Santana but this one is too nice for my style. I agree that a trip to the shore may help find a buyer for Carlos. My daily driver is an '84 110 Diesel Pick-Up, way more useful, not so pretty.

No, Penelope isn't for sale. She is an amazing ride and a keeper. She might get a tdi some day if I can swing it.
    Thanks,
    Brad
