Default NOT FOR SALE at this time. 1972 LR Series III 109" w/ Safari Roof for sale

For sale: 1972 Land Rover Series III, 109” (long) wheelbase. Right Hand Drive (RHD, or British). It followed me home from an assignment in England.

I’m the third owner. Clean title and import. Purchased from Land Rover Centre in England.
    $12,000
    Particulars:
    43,000 miles
New (2005) galvanized chassis and body underspray with WaxOyl
Body off restoration and repaint in 2005
    Safari roof
    Fairy overdrive
    2.25L gas engine
    Roof rack with ladder
    New gas tank (2005)
    Electronic ignition
US spec headlamps installed (UK in box)
    New-ish exhaust
New thermostat and temp sender in 2012
New water pump and fuel pump in 2011, new wheel cylinders also (all)
Electronic distributor, brake master cylinder and starter in 2006
Comes with a huge amount of spare kit, such as gaskets, bushings, taillamps, bearings and more. New in box.
Comes with Land Rover official service manual and Haynes manual
Interior is in immaculate shape. Was reupholstered in 2005. Headliner is in great shape. Has all new seat belts at all 12 seats (including jump seats)
COMES with original LR owners manual (reprint)
Has standard LR leaks from things that contain fluid and things that don’t (like roof) Engine, transmission and overdrive in good running shape. Currently needs clutch repaired and carburetor cleaned.

Problems: rust in the windscreen pillar (surface), door pillar (rust and a wee bit more) and door lower panel rust. Roof leaks like a sieve in heavy rains, and like a light refreshing rain in light rain. It’s coming from the seal between the roof and windscreen panel. Very annoying. Floor panels are sound and in good shape. See photos for details. Also need to repair the clutch and rebuild/clean the carb. It has sat for a year with only minor movement to rotate wheel bearings. Probably needs the brake pads replaced (in spares kit).

I’d like to send her to a good, loving home with someone who has more time to spare than I do. I have a local cash offer but it’s low. I’d like to get $12,000 for this. The spares kits is a steal as it really is dozens of bits that you need for long term maintenance.

Spares kit: (all new in box)
    full set radiator hoses
    full set heater hoses
    new spark plugs
set of points for original distributor (still with truck)
    condenser
    Distributor cap
    rotor
    oil filter
    front & rear brake shoes
    head gasket
    fan belt
    sump pump washer
    gear box washer
    wheel hub seals
    outer & inner wheel bearings
full set front and rear brake cylinders
    headlamp lenses, light bulbs
most importantly, right now anyway, clutch master and slave kits
    chassis bushings

Where is this vehicle located? Do you have pictures of the rust issues and underneath?

Default Not SOLD--but not for sale anymore

Sorry. I've decided to hang on to the Landy a while longer. No longer for sale.
