SOLD - '74 Series III 88, 2.25 Diesel and Fairey OD FOR SALE
I am selling my 1974 Series III 88" Landy. She has a very healthy 2.25 diesel showing ~55,300 miles on the odometer. I purchased Rex from an importer in 2007 and since then I have upgraded to Rocky Mountain parabolic springs, Rocky Mountain door tops, a Fairey OD, and a tropical top. Service has been kept up including a recent brake (drums, lines, master cylinder replaced), and cooling system overhaul (new radiator, water pump, and hoses), new exhaust, and free wheeling hubs. I have receipts and logs since I bought Rex.
Since Rex is over 40 years old, he has some areas that are showing age. The bulkhead has some rust in the footwells and at the bulkhead corners that will need to be tended to in the future. The gearbox is solid, but a rebuild isn't that far off. The frame is solid and was Waxoyl'd 4 years ago (spent 3.5 of those years in San Diego though). I've been told Rex doesn't leak nearly as many fluids as the typical Series III and the diesel is strong. Only a little smoke on start up, but once warmed up, he pulls better than most diesels.
I wouldn't have any problem jumping in Rex and driving cross country (well my backside might have a problem). He is an excellent starting point for a frame off or rolling rebuild.
Asking $8500. Located in San Diego.
Call anytime between 7am and 9pm Pacific. (319) 321-4135
