How to test Heater Motor

So I've taken apart and put together again the two-speed heater motor for my Series III. I've resolved what seemed to be the issue ( a seized bearing). After cleaning up in there and following instructions laid out by those who've gone through the same, I need to test the thing to see if it runs before I remount it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

It' a simple 12V motor. All you need is a 12v power lead and ground. The speeds are changed via the electrickery of the switch.

that big green Tootsie roll is the resistor which gives you the 2 speeds. this could be shot also so check with 12v to the motor itself. and HOLD the motor, it is going to want to take off!!! check the resistor with the meter for resistance, follow the leads in and test on that side and the output to the motor, if you donot get 2 different readings, chances are the resistor is shot

I tried putting power directly into the motor (not via the resistor) and gor continuity to indicate that the circuit was complete, however the motor still did not spin. Any ideas as to what the problem may be there?

Try some contact cleaner sprayed on the armature where the brushes come in to contact, may, may bring it back to life, if not, probably need a new motor, sorry for the bad news
