Default The thread of the hood-mounted spare-tire mounting bolts?

I have a re-galvanized "pie-plate" for a spare hood (sorry, bonnet) for my '71 Series 2A. In order to have the bolt fit, the threads need to be chased out. So far, no one in any bolt-and-nut store seems to know what the thread is! I've kind of given up finding another bolt of the size except for the official platinum-plated ones at $20 each.
    Any help would be swell.

They are UNF, so regular old 1/2-20 works fine.

Hmm. If that were the case, I'm surprised that nobody in the bolt-and-nut stores mentioned in the OP could figure out this ultra-common thread spec.

My 109 has 2 factory hold-down thingys holding the spare to my pie plate mount; One uses a smaller diameter bolt with a smaller head, and the other one (the one that people maintain is 1/2 BSF), has a 1 1/16" hex head.

To the OP: Easy enough to tell what you have--Grab a thread gauge (or a ruler if you don't have a gauge) and check the pitch. 1/2 BSF has 16 threads-per-inch.

The heads match lug nut size so you can remove them with lug wrench. All the ones I recall have this larger head??
