    Default "new"' mirrors

    I bought my S3 new in 1974 and it had the standard mirrors on the door hinges. Those got wiped off long ago but I bought new ones for the S3 and my S2
    months ago and today took the drivers door off to do this job. it wasn't easy at all, lots of dents, welding, rust galore but i finally got it back on and am majorly discouraged by the mirrors. The arms, adapter plate and all are like the originals but the mirror isn't up to standard, not like the original.
    has anyone had a issue with these? I think they must be for a defender or something, i don't know.
    i got these from pt blanchard in england.
