multiple electrical problems??

The wildshield wipers are on continuously and will not shut off. The switch does activate the high setting, but you can not turn them off and the intermitent does not work either. I pulled the fuse for the windshield wipers which disabled the tachometer and the check engine light came on. When the fuse is replaced, the wipers are on continuously, the tac works, but the check engine light does not go out. Any suggestions?

I assume you're talking about a Defender, since that's where you posted, but you need to tell us which Defender, as the circuitry is different between 110s and 90's and '97 D90 is different than '94 & 95 too.
Problem is in one of two places, either you stalk switch or the park switch, inside the wiper motor, and that's where I think your prob. lies.
