    Default Chirping Noise when drving

I have '02 Discovery II, when driving I hear a chirping noise coming from the engine but it only happens while driving. Has this happen to anyone else and does any have any idea what it can be?

Does it happen right after turning on an electrical device, like headlights? If so, you might have a loose fan belt. Turning on hte device places a demand on the alternator. That kicks in and the sudden demand slows the pulley on the alternator, causing it to slip if it's a bit loose.

    Or it's something completely different...

I had the same situation and did turn off the devices as advised by the first gentleman, yet the sound persisted as I moved. The second gentleman hit right on. It was the front drive shaft failing. Please have someone checking it soon otherwise the damage could get very large as this part could fail and ruin your under carriage.
