You'll get a million opinions from a million people. To determine what's best, you need to be very specific about several things:
    -mostly on-road or off
-sacrifice comfort for weight carrying capability
    -towing a trailer
    -what height
-what equipment on vehice- bumpers, winches etc
There's a chart to compare heights here: http://www.muddyoval.com/articles/di...ing_height.htm

You want the best suspension and shocks for a Disco II? Watch this forum this week to see some very sweet variable rate springs and prototype shocks. Complete with an install guide and ride height versus stock and a comprehensive performance analysis versus stock.

I've run RTE 2" springs in a Disco 2 and it rode like a dream. They should come from the factory with those springs.

The steering does become a bit vague though. But you can't beat RTE http://www.rovertym.com/
